I have had the pleasure of participating in research studies for folks living with HIV/AIDS conducted by the Liberating Research group. Not only was I touched by the idea of these studies being conducted to learn more about living with this virus in a world that seems to place little importance on it or those of us who struggle do so, I was even more impressed with Liberating Research themselves. I have to admit that I saw an unexpected benefit in telling my story. I have been busy living my life, but not really taking an opportunity to reflect on the journey that has brought me to this point. I found myself remembering things that I had forgotten or learned to simply take for granted.
