I have had the pleasure of participating in research studies for folks living with HIV/AIDS conducted by the Liberating Research group. Not only was I touched by the idea of these studies being conducted to learn more about living with this virus in a world that seems to place little importance on it or those of us who struggle do so, I was even more impressed with Liberating Research themselves. My encounters with their staff, coordinators and affiliates were not only professional, timely and courteous but most importantly they were extremely respectful and done in such a dignified manner. I was treated with extreme respect and care that I will never forget and which is not so very common in today's day and age. These studies allowed me to be my authentic self in an atmosphere of safety and extreme ease. I highly recommend Liberating Research and applaud the work they are doing! I have to admit that I saw an unexpected benefit in telling my story.
